    Car is home.

Well, no sun here today so final judgement reserved.

    1. No obvious runs - check
    2. No obvious panel gaps - check
    3. No excessive paint buildup on edges - check (well, there is, but close enough)
    4. Orange Peel tight, even and consistent with factory - check

They did wash the car - ooops.

Orange peel around the number plate area is excessive (by my standards) but meh. No one really sees it and if I can be bothered I'll hit it with a high cut.

Some leftover paint edging from tape in places - along bottom sill. I can sort that out. Not sure they put the sill back on as close to the body as it could be. Pretty good though, minor gap on a mm or two.

Car looks in good condition, no obvious marks anywhere

They also did a much better job of touching up the underneath of the front bar where they scraped it - nice gloss and smooth.

The first day of sun will let me know how much work I'll need to do on swirls.

No smell of thinners like last time. No slopped filler anywhere like last time. No paint overspray on windows like last time.

    Candyman happy

if you find yourself needing a detail, my friend does a pretty good job i'd say:

(all photos straight from my cameraphone, just some cropping)

i remember it rained while i was driving home from the detail, and by the time i got home the car was already dry

The new paint will be allowed a few weeks before I detail it. The rest of the car has a few layers of sealant from prior to the repairs.

I then plan to put an RO over the repainted area, cleanser wipe down and reseal. Will follow up in a few days with another layer and then one more layer a week later.

Thanks for the offer though. I have all the necessary gear and products, just need to wait a bit

nice pics indeed! I had my car 2 weeks, drove it to Shell servo for some VPower and went in to pay. Came back 10 secs later to find a 4WD reversed his tow bar and cracked my front bumper. Unlucky for him the servo guy was really helpful and gave the rego of the car and tape to the police who tracked him down...so was fixed through his insurance and not mine!

Sounds right, I have been using wax for a while, though I think the RB looks better with synthetic and it lasts longer.. will detail mine at xmas again
