TDI -> GTI/R conversion, info request! Anyone done it? Valance Swap? Bumper sources?

    Hey guys,

I'm mulling doing a GTI (or R) conversion for my Mk6 TDI, so new front bumper (plus front fog implants), exhausts on either side and rear bumper.

Has anyone done it/recommend it/sources for parts? The thing that is confusing me is whether it would be as simple as swapping the rear valances over, or whether the GTI valance is in fact, incompatible with the TDI/TSI valance (and if so, how is it different?). Some places are saying it is, some say it isn't, some say it is different but the valances should be the same, it's all rather confusing.

I'm also chasing good source for bumpers/parts, if anyone knows any?

Finally, do you guys reckon it's worth doing? Otherwise I could get new twin tips done and replace the current valance with a GTI style valance (but still twin tips on one side, there's one on eBay for ~$150 delivered)... thoughts?

    Thanks guys

Yep, already been in contact with him, he's advised me it's going to be expensive Unless I can pick and scratch all the parts I need second or something, but they seem to be rare

Still no definite answer on the rear valance though, that would significantly cut down my expenses.

Koji's selling his car, isn't he? You could see if you can buy all his mod parts.

Thanks Adam for posting up, however I sold most of the parts already. Still have the front bumper and steering wheel but the rest is now sold...

IMO it would be better to buy an R/GTI...Possibly GTD if you want to keep diesel.

It's all well and good to say that, but I have the car, and you'd lose stacks in the swap.... soooo yea.

Kit + remap basically makes it a GTD anyways
