car purchased by me brand new in 2005, it had leaked within 2 years - im not trying to scare anyone off a sunroof, just keep it in mind when your deciding; when you think about the whole concept of a sunroof is bound to open up issues; its not just a VW problem, I know others who have dealt with the pain of a leaking sunroof - im sure VW is at the better end of issues around sunroofs

Its a personal choice at the end of the day; caveat emptor......

Had one in my 06 Jetta, no problems at all in the three years I owned it. It was NEVER garaged in that time and had no leaking problems. I found I used it almost every day and often at night, I think they are a great idea.

It would seem that cleaning the drain tubes from time to time would prevent them from blocking thereby eliminating the problem of leaking.

Now that you have insulted every Eos and Cabby owner on this forum, I'd be interested to know where pompous fits into the argument. I often have the roof down on my Eos, that's why I bought one. So am I correct in assuming you think I am pompous just because I like the openness and feeling of freedom afforded by a convertible?

My 2006 R32 was parked outside literally across the road from the beach and on a major road (shed load of dust, sand, saltwater etc) and never had any probs.

Always bound to have someone with some problem with every option available on every car. Just gotta hope you're not the one as living your life according to what MAY happen has got to be quite dull.

Don't take it too seriously, everyone is entitled to their tastes and opinions (but wasn't even thinking about the EOS). Didn't mean to offend anyone .

I had a sunroof in my second hand A4 (and liked it), yet to pay for one as a new option.

You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

    You pompous bastard!

I love motorbikes but have come off one too many and seen a number of friends killed or seriously injured on them. Closest alternative I could come up with is a convertible so that's what I drive.

Reality is, I don't give a flying fig if people think I'm pompous, a show off, up myself, an idiot or anything else, it's my choice and they can take it or leave it just as they can drive whatever they like.
