Took my car to golfwagen (WANGARA) for a oil service, (oil filter, oil, sump plug replaced and diagnostic check).

Service was fantastic, car was booked in for this afternoon and I turned up early about 10am, only person there was Ben (mechanic) and even though he was working on another car he had no problem in carrying out a quick oil change using Castrol SLX Professional Powerflow Longlife III. As it was quiet i spent the 30mins on the shop floor with him so I also had a chance to look under the car properly. I think the car feels better as well, that could just be me.

Will definitely take my car there again for its next proper service.

Thanks to Ben and golfwagen for the excellent service.

    Steering wheel fitting in Perth

    Hello,

Just got myself a leather steering wheel to replace my stock plastic one on my 77TSI. Both steering wheels are non-mf button versions.

Does anyone know a good place in Perth I can go to get my steering wheel changed over?
I dont have the tools or know-how.

    Cheers!

    Hello moped899
I merged your thread with a "Servicing in WA" thread I found in the http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...t**-59253.html thread. Whilst you're not asking for servicing, you're asking for VW specialists in WA who will do work on your VW for you. That means either VW dealers, or VW specialists. Both are listed in this thread. Cheers.

How are WA dealers with people taking their VW in for logbook servicing if it was purchased from another dealer? Do the dealers share information as to the service and logbook?

Has anyone rated the service departments from best to worst?

You can take it to any dealer for the service, or another place that can service VWs (ie has the computer gizmo that can talk to a VW such as Golfwagen in Wangara or Quattro in Vic Park).

Dealers do not share information, but should record things in the log book. You can also ask for a print-out of the computer interrogation of your car for your own records. (Golfwagen attach this to your receipt).

Read through this thread and you will find peoples comments on different dealers in regard to services, but there is yet to be any sort of objective rating scale. Some people will not return to a certain dealer, while others will rave about them...

I bought my car from Osborne Park VW, had my first service at Wangara VW and second at Golfwagen. I will go to Golfwagen again...

Mine will be going in to Quattro Motors next Friday 12/08/2011 for the 30k service. They're not quite the closest to where I live, but they're not far from JH VW who would be the closest to me. And it will be a relief when the blasted car stops whining at me to SERVICE NOW whenever I turn on the ignition!
