I had my Polo GTI serviced at Quattro ever since it was new and they've always been great and the price reasonable. I'll be taking my Golf there also.

    I'm going to Quattro's!
I've heard some pretty horrific stories about you.......just saying, as you did.

You bag those dealerships, only by word of mouth from someone else, yet you have no first hand experience to relate. Your opinion is not really valid on this occasion.

I've never had any issues with Wangara, bought my R from there and took that and our new Tiguan back there for their 1000km complimentary check overs, also taking the Tiguan in this Friday to get some warranty work done.

Actually bought the Tig from Melvilles, not a very good experience at all and their after sales/service department was shocking.

Ive had all of the work on both my Audis done at Quattro and can say been happy always - they are also happy for me to buy bits and they only charge (good rates) for labour.

I've never used Golfwagen as they are too far away for me, but I've only ever seen good stories about them on here

    OK FJ,

You win - I have indeed had personal experience with BOTH dealerships and on BOTH occasions have been almost litigation level shafted. After buying my golf through one of these companies (they're sister companies) and having it re-looked at by the other, I've been lied to (though I suspect that comes with part of the industry) - cheated out of certain add-ons which were promised at sale, had my car damaged in several ways when it was in for a completely different reason.

I've taken the car to another dealership who've complained that theyre getting 'too many' calls from customers with similar complaints as mine.

There are also entries on these forums from other users who've had extensive damage done to their car when it was put in for servicing - only to be lied to also (the dealership claimed it was 'like that' before it came in)...

Sh*t customer service is one thing, but when your pride and joy is getting damaged / and that damage is then not even admitted, we're crossing into another level. A level that I believe is in the best interests of people at least knowing about.

I didn't mention my experience in my original because A) I don't want to be identified, and B) because fanboi's like you would see it as just a single experience...

Like it or not, not everyone is going to have a positive experience with every company - EVERYONE'S opinion is equally relevant. I'd hate for somebody to go to dealerships where I've personally suffered car damage and not at least having warned them.

    Get over yourself.

    And...

As for hearing some pretty horific stories about me? It's a slanderous comment dipsh*t... you should be more careful what you say. I CAN (and now HAVE) backed up what I've commented on with facts. You can't - which puts you (and this forum's administratos) in a very precarious legal position.

Oh wait, that may actually be true

On the issue of quattro motors, do they have the computer equipment to do the firmware upgrades?

I had my 7500km service done at Peter's Master Motor Mechanics in Rockingham, he's on the same road where I work. He has diagnostics equipment for the Golf and was very particular about buying the right oil. He wasn't cheap though, he charged around $395 if I recall.

For the 15,000km service I went to VW Wangara, I had some minor issues that I wanted fixing under warranty (creaking door catch, panel under the gearshift console that had worked loose). Again, not cheap, around $400 for the service I think. I should point out that I live in Como and work in Rockingham, so going to Wangara for servicing is something of an inconvenience, although I've never had anything but a good rapport with Tash in the service department.

Some months after the 15k service I had a leaking gas strut in the tailgate that was replaced under warranty (they replaced them both) and that took all of 20 minutes, kudos to them for that.

The closest VW dealership to me is JH in Vic Park, but Quattro Motors is also in Vic Park, so I may go there or I may go back to Peter Erlemeyer in Rockingham. I have around 3000km or so to make up my mind before I'm due for my 30,000km service. I'll find out from Peter how much the 30,000km service is likely to cost.
