Yeah, not a bad idea. Hopefully the cost on the software update won't be too astronomical. Wishful thinking probably.
EDIT: Just spoke to Brian at Skipper VW Service, their service cost is $385 as stated earlier in the thread. He said there are any updates that these could be accessed under warranty at no cost. The car could be booked in with them or any dealership and they would check it for necessary updates and apply an applicable at no cost. That was a surprise!

I've booked it in with the guys in Wangara, formerly GolfWagen, now called EuroElite or something to that effect (due to threats of legal action from VW earlier this year). Current price for 15k service is around $300 depending on whether they need to replace the wiper inserts (something they test yearly and replace for $30 if need is there).

GTREA, we at Melville Volkswagen do commercials. Dedicated Crafter hoist, air-conditioned workshop (= happy technicians) and competitive pricing

Software updates are effectively safety recalls - why would you Expect to pay for them?!? Sounds like you are happy with the result though

AFAIK, if the car needs warranty work or similar like as a parts recall, Quattros will take the vehicle to JH for those particular items so you don't get billed labour, but I could be wrong.

    Hey guys,

Just want to know what the servicing is like at Golfwagen. My mk6 GTI is nearly due for its 15000km service. Price wise it looks all right but also want to get the job done properly. No offence to Golfwagen of course

Search the forum, there are heaps of posts about Golfwagon (Euro Elite). Personally I had a really good experience with them for my 30k service...
I have a great relationship with the dealership that I used to get the services done at - specifically Tash the service manager, BUT they just can't compare with the price (even with a VIP discount that I apparently get).

I took my Tiguan to Euro Elite recently for a 15,000Km service. Joe and Philip were helpful and I'm happy with their work. I'm definitely a returning customer.
