Not sure if this has been discussed before.

The manufacturer recommendation of my 2011 Golf MK6 shows on the fuel cap the tyre pressure as 200kPa (light load).

I was told on my outing on 2012 VW on the racetrack that you should keep it at 35psi or so (245kPa).

The car feels a bit rolly polly at 200kPa and I have been using it at 35Psi ever since with good tyre wear with tyre rotation every service. Fuel mileage also is noticeably better.

Is there anyone out there running 200kPa (29psi) on their tyres? Just want to get an understanding the reason behind the low tyre pressure VW recommends.
