Sort of. But take the aircon speed out of the equation. It comes from the CANBUS speed which is derived from the ABS individual wheel speeds. This should always be very accurate and only varies with tyre diameter (and slip). It is independent of the speedo/odo system and should remain unchanged through out.
The three speeds you change by buggering with the Distance mutiplier are the digital speedo the anologue speedo and the odometer. Change the distance multiplier and these three speeds will ALL change accordingly. With correct distance multiplier set ODO will be accurate and 2 speedos will overread by design.

The only instrument affected is the speedometer. The multiplier increases the value going to the to the analog speedometer and no other instruments. It doesn't touch the odometer at all.
You can alter the speedo to read spot on as per the CAN bus speed by taking an EEPROM dump of the cluster and altering a few values. The same with the dampening on the temperature gauge which is set to read 90 degrees when it's between 84 and 98 degrees.

No - VW dealers won't do it because the speed of your car, and all new cars, are purposely set to read faster than you're actually travelling to PROTECT you.
Yes they can but as Coreying said they most likely won't.

I haven't been to look at the new Mk6 yet but in the R36, I can set the climate temp display to show an accurate speed reading that is out by about 10kph when comparing to the speedo (i.e. when the speedo is indicating 120kph, I'm actually doing 110kph).
Is that possible on the new Golf?

well, no speedo is 'out by 10kph' - it's out by a percentage. Cause obviously if you're only doing 10kph, the speedo is going to be showing more than '0'.
But to answer your question, the MK6 Golf (at least in the GTI I've driven) has a digital speedo screen in the MFD.
The updated climate temp system in VW no longer has a digital display. The temp displays in the display of the 'stereo'. I believe the Passat has also been updated to that now.
Sorry I'm not talking about the MFD - the digital speed display in the MFD is also not accurate. As per my last post, I'm referring to the climate temp display. All R36's (which are Passats) including the MY10s I have seen at the dealer have three dials and two temp displays which show a whole lot of information in "engineering mode" including the speed.
But if the Golf Mk6 doesn't have the same setup then that sucks. It's quite handy.
