Thread: So my Haldex pump failed.....

    So my Haldex pump failed.....

2012 R with 37000kms....i'm the second owner and have put 4000kms on it since March. It's in for a 60K service with VW Village and they just called and said it's throwing the code for a dead Haldex pump.

What do we think my chances are of having VW come to the party and stump up some cash? That sort of failure after 37000kms is rubbish.

Well its only just out of warranty, and with the service not being till 60k, they might offer the part as good will. I guess its due for the haldex service now...

That was my thinking......I don't know how much me being the second owner will change things.

VW Village are replacing it, it's having the big service so the Haldex is being done.

Should be fine. From my conversations with VW, subsequent owners have the same rights. If you haven't done already, call VW customer service and get them to email you an Owner Amendment Form before chasing them up for a new pump.

Not sure if VW will come to the party if it is replaced outside the dealer network. Usual procedure is to take the vehicle to a VW dealer to be diagnosed then the dealer lodges a claim with VWA.

    Cheers

Looks like i'm screwed then......it's VWV have already replaced it. I'll give it a crack with VW anyway.
