    Yep, interval is 60,000kms.

    Recommend getting them from your dealer, off your VIN, as there's a revised version for this engine.

    03C905601B is the revised spark plug part number. They are NGK plugs: SIZFR6B8EG

    Service interval is 60,000 km as stated but the ones I pulled looked ok after 65,000 km.

    Running lean is all for fuel economy and vw was probably on the right path with this attitude but the hardware isn't suited. We have carried out several rebuilds using the new piston and with success.Currently building another but price of the pistons is the killer...near $1800 a set. If you are self building be sure you use the correct alignment tools,its required to set timing chains correctly/ cams otherwise bent valves will occur.happy to perform the alignment in house if you dont have the equipment. regards steve

    That's really expensive.... I found an engine for $1000... Would be cheaper for new engine!

    When doing a re build, are those pistons and rings the same parts from the original way back in 2009 or have they been re engineered?

    Is there a way to find a list of parts in the CAVD have been officially upgraded by VW?

    piston code ends in a CK ,these are the latest revised version...as for a used engine ??????how good is it ????
