Thanks for your help
I have noticed recently that when backing off the accelerator and punching the pedal again there seems to be movement .My thoughts would indicate that perhaps the gearbox needs bracing either for a dogbone mount or change the insert .As Im not savvy on golf's suspension etc as of yet some inputs and recommendation would go a long way .
Thankyou

Check all the bushings and engine mounts; I had a similar thing happen with my Bora; it was the control arm bushings and the dogbone, like you mentioned.

Sounds like one or more of your engine mounts is worn out. The most common culprit is the "dog bone" mount or pendulum mount which is underneath the engine. You can get inserts to tighten up this mount such as 034 Billet Aluminium Dogbone Mount Insert, MK5/MK6 GTI, JETTA, A3/TT– VAGPARTS Australia
Thanks Lucas .Would be a good idea to change the factory rubber mount as well
Is there a top billet insert as well

If the factory rubber mount is cracking and/or ripped then yes it would probably be wise to have that changed - but bear in mind the whole front subframe needs to come out to replace that mount, so it will be expensive.
I would get under the car with a torch and just have a look at the condition of the rubber mount, and if not too bad, then install the insert as I linked above (you can buy cheaper ones if you look on ebay etc). You can buy a top insert as well, but I believe the subframe needs to be lowered/removed to fit it - so not many people bother.
I used to have a Mk6 R and had the lower insert fitted and it was good - made a noticeable difference to reducing engine movement without any unwanted vibration or noise.
Cheers
