Service questions

Hi I'm in the market for a mk 6 fyi and it'll e my first VW.

From the research I've done servicing seems quite expensive which is OK because I'll only be doing 10,000 klms pretty year.

So my question is, with the varying mileage on cars for sale I wanted to know which services should I be looking for in service book history as critical? And if you can advise what the average$$are for the std and major services.

Servicing schedule is 12mths or 15,000kms (whichever comes first), so doesn't matter if you only do low kms...

So if a 6yr old MK6 appeals to you and it only has 20,000kms on the ODO, it still should have had 6 scheduled services! If not, that is a bargaining tool and might also make you walk away.
However if another 6yr old MK6 had 63,000kms on the ODO and 6 scheduled services, you could be confident in its service history!

VW offer Capped Price Service; Service Pricing Guide | Volkswagen Australia this should give you an indication. Also plenty of independent VAG Group Specialists out there!

If you want the car to look after you, best to look after it!!!
