    Smile Service, issues and pricing.

    Hi All,

Currently going for a service and some repairs and wanted to know other drivers thoughts on pricing.
Have been quoted by VW Essendon, $680 for the service. I'm currently at 91900kms on the odometer.

Issue 1 - Long story short i believe is the Waste gate rattle issue? which has been quoted at $230

Issue 2 - Instrument cluster backlight has gone and can only use the LCD during night drive, however the needles on the cluster still illuminate red.
Could be a simple fuse that's blown, however they quoted me for worst case scenario which is a replacement of the
    cluster $800-900.

Now I did purchase the vehicle through pickles with warranty, not sure if any of these would fall under warranty (see attached)

If anyone has any recommendations or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance and apologises for my ignorance.

    Regards.

Just had the service done, car does run much smoother.
Issue 1: yes it was a wastegate issue, however VW were out of stock and needed to order the part. $250 supply/install.
Issue 2: They gave me the 'bad' news that my cluster globe had gone and needed a new replacement.
Must be ordered from Germany and costs are $1200-$1300. Well over priced to change a globe.

Never heard of such an issue to happen on these vehicles before.

The cluster will have LED's and not globes..... As the cluster also has the immobiliser that bumps the price up. If you do get it replaced and you can get the old one back I will be happy to give you a couple of dollars for it.
