I beg to differ. Seen it first hand. Wouldn't surprise me if the moron is still there.
I understand what you r saying. And like anything in life u need to do research on where u take your car. I know my independent EA has no apprentices atm. They r all fully trained.
When I refer to an independent I'm not talking about an ultratune or uncle bobs garage. I take our 89 civic to a local independent as is just a run around and servicing is cheap from him. I take my boss 302 Mustang to another independent but he is known in the old school muscle car scene plus he has owns a boss 302 himself and run his workshop for over 20 years.
    So I guess it depends

60K servicing around Newcastle in NSW

    Hi all

I need to get the 60K service done on my 118TSI, Was just quoted $850 from VW at Maitland.
Can anyone recommend other places I could take it to that has qualified mechanics, or a lot of VW experience?
I can see why it is expensive, but at the same time, at almost 1K for a service for a 30K car, and other small cars with capped price servicing are looking at like $150, its not good enough.

    Thanks

    Is it a DSG?

A lot of people around here are using Audi Newcastle.

Audi is separate to Klosters, but they are pretty good to deal with. I currently service my Golf there.

European Car Centre at Maryville (near Carrington) is also a good one. I was there this morning dropping my friend off to pick up his Golf which was there. They do all Euro's and they know the Golf platform very well. European Car Centre - Home

He is insane, but he actually cares about what he is doing and takes pride in it.

Just him, an older guy and his brother now. The young apprentice isn't around anymore..
