I sold my white manual 2011 GTI with MDI and Detroits for $32500 back in April, I could have asked more but needed to offload it quickly. That had 25,000 on it, no scratches, marks or anything on the wheels.
Thanks Lucas....
I will have to find out more as far as options are concerned however I think it is pretty standard.
I know it doesn't have Leather, sunroof or 18inch Detroit rims. However I am unsure about the rest....
Thanks again for the help.

Hi everyone. I've been looking into buying a 2nd hand mk vi golf and have some concerns and i'm not sure if they're justified... I figure this is the best place to ask about them?
I have been reading through this form over the past fortnight or so and have found that the general consensus is that the 118 is crap, and that the 7 speed DSG is crap, and I should avoid both. A few questions then;
1, Are the 77 and 90 engines ok? Do they last? Are there any known problems?
2, How is the 103 diesel going? Does that last?
3, How is the 6-speed DSG? (fitted to the diesel I believe?)
4, Should I just stick with manual and disregard ALL DSG's?
5, Are modern VW's terribly expensive to service?
6, Are the expensive services 60k & 100k or am I mistaken?
7, How much would one expect to pay for the 'expensive' services?
I understand all of those questions are pretty broad but any feedback from owners/past owners would be greatly appreciative.
Those engines are all very good, with very few issues. The diesel is probably the best of the bunch in terms of reliability these days, with very few issues reported online.
The 6-speed wet-clutch DQ250 (fitted to all Mk6s with over 250Nm - so, 103TDI, GTI and R) is generally much more reliable than the 7-speed dry-clutch DQ200. Mechatronic issues do still arise with some cars from time to time, but are generally uncommon, and clutch slipping/shuddering is not an issue with this gearbox.
Have a look on VW's website for a list of their fixed price schedule of charges for the Mk6. Unless you buy a Mk6 from a dealer you won't be eligible, but it does give you a rough idea of what you might be paying from a dealer if you push a bit. In terms of "expensive", one person's cheap is another's expensive, so you're better off checking the numbers yourself. A 6-speed DSG car requires the gearbox oil be changed at 60,000/4 years, and that can cost between $600-900 including oil, so yes, that one is more expensive than the norm.

Hi all. Looking at offloading my 2010 mk6 gti to make way for a new vehicle and was hoping those in the know here may be able to give me an idea of what it might fetch on the private market. I know what redbook says, but take that with a grain of salt. Specs are white, 5dr, DSG, leather, sunroof, 18in detroits, mdi, 96xxx km's and full-service history.
Also have personalized NSW euro plates of MK06GT which I'd look at offloading separately should anyone be interested.
Cheers
originals for me
Current - 2015 Tiguan 155 R-Line.
Previous - Jetta MkV 147 Turbo, Viezu Raceday mapped, Carbonio CAI, Quad Exhaust System, R8 Coil pack, Whiteline Swaybar, GTi Steering wheel with paddles, Alloy pedals, RNS510 & Leather.
Originals. You'll get no more for the fancy wheels as a package. You will do better selling them than the Denvers (assuming equal condition).
If you're selling privately I'd offer both as options, will depend on the buyer.
If trading no contest - Denvers back on and move the Momos separately. The dealer will often pay less without the stock rims back on.
