I have seen some Mk6s go for even less than mine with lower kms and also newer with same or more options...
Cos yours was owned by a "mature" man ;p Never rev'd above 2000rpm!

Bargain or not '10 TSI four door

My wife has a teacher colleague selling her '10 model golf as she is moving back to the uk. She originally was asking 17k but is running out of time and dropped it to 14k

I'm almost tempted at that price to sell our '06 mazda 3

    Here's the details

    Vehicle
    2010 Volkswagen Golf VI 118TSI Comfortline MY10 Direct-Shift Gearbox
    Price
    $14,000*
    Kilometres
    106,916
    Colour
    Reflex Silver
    Interior Colour
    charcoal
    Transmission
7 speed Sports Automatic Dual Clutch
    Body
    5 doors 5 seat Hatchback
    Drive Type
    Front Wheel Drive
    Engine Type
4 Petrol - Premium ULP Turbo Supercharged Intercooled 1.4 1390 cc

Would I be asking for trouble with the km? I've only ever seen her drive past so not seen the condition inside. She downgraded from a 09 vw eos convertible to the four door in 2012 and got this second hand from the dealer. She lives on the central coast and works in the Hornsby area so mainly freeway km from the commute each day.

    Thoughts? Advice?

Aslong as you service them as per the service schedule and only run reputable 98 octane fuels (BP Ultimate, Shell) then I don't see why this is not a no brainer choice. Will be a step up from the Mazda thats for sure.

Price is reasonable - but its the 118TSI with the 7 speed DSG........so do yourself a favour and read up on the reliability concerns on this engine/transmission combo. Personally i wouldn't buy one with that engine/transmission combo.

The 90TSI engine is far more reliable.

Otherwise, spend a bit more and get a GTI, i picked up a 2010 Mk6 GTI with 55,000km on it for $19,600 a few months ago.

Sweet thanks, already had my gearbox mecha unit go in my '11 T5. Was under warranty so didn't cost me but would put me off this idea. Yeah I saw a nice r32 the other day for sale. Maybe a gti would be sweet.

    Hey Guys,
Ended up selling the car a couple of weeks ago. I ended up getting 28K for it which I was happy with considering Rego was coming up in a month.

I'm toying with the idea of selling my Golf GTI...

It was purchased in November 2012, it has about 45,000 km's (highway km's - I average 7L /100 km), white, DSG, four door, reversing camera, 18 inch detroits, sunroof, full service history, Opticoat.

It also has DG springs, Whiteline ALK, Viezu tune, Viezu downpipe and intake.

I am in Perth so prices are a bit higher, but I am thinking it's probably only worth low $30's - maybe $32k? What do people think, is this a bit optimistic?

Currently in the market for a Mk6 Golf 90TSI Manual

    Just had a few questions to pick your VWW brains with;

    - Were there any notable changes between the early '09/10 and the later '11/'12 models?

    - Any tips/tricks on determining whether the car has been kept in good nick?

    Good choice sir.

I have the 11.5 90 manual. I can tell you that by this time they had dropped the comfort package from the 09/10 models in favor of giving some of the options from that package as standard for 11/12 (hope that makes sense). I think they did that because they introduced the 77tsi thus replacing the 90 as the entry level Golf. Check out the link Adam posted above, I used that reference when I bought mine earlier...

Appearance wise, there was no change to the 90.

    Good luck.
