Rates change constantly (hourly? less than hourly?). Also keep in mind that almost all financial institutions will charge a small currency conversion fee. For example, my bank, St George, will give the exact exchange rate reported on a site such as XE - however they'll then add a 2.5% conversion fee as a separate charge afterwards. Paypal just puts it into the one transaction etc...

Has anyone in a MK6 managed to remove the airbag? There is a thread over on golfmkv.com where a lot of the MK6 guys are having the same problem as me, they simply cant remove the airbag. It seems on the MK5 it just pops off, but not on the MK6. I just spent another hour trying and it just wont budge. There is something in addition to that metal clip holding it on....

Hi mate. Have a look at the picture in the first post of this thread. It's a MK6 from forum member Nath.
Btw, it's not the airbag you're trying to remove there, it's just the cover. From what I've read, you need to use the screw driver to push the little clip, but also use your hand to pull the airbag/horn cover out torwards the drivers seat (from the side that you're currently popping the clip on obviously).

    Success!!

So while leaving a screwdriver holding the clip open you just need to grip the airbag cover as best you can with your fingertips and pull with EXTREME force (my fingertips are still throbbing....). Keep wiggling your fingers further behind it as it comes forward and finally with an almighty bang (yes I thought the airbag had gone off) the whole thing will come off (I didn't have to do the other side, it all came off with just one clip undone).

From there just follow the instructions with a couple of exceptions. On the R the two sets of steering wheel buttons are connected across the top by the shiny black plastic, so you have to take them both off as one.

Once fitted both paddles hit the leather at the back of the wheel causing them to be impossible to press. This will require either the removal of some leather with a knife or the removal of some metal from the paddle with a file.

After I put everything back together I still had the ESP and TPMS warning light and error message, so I went for a drive to the VW service centre and about 500m into the drive the warnings went away and haven't come back, yay. The only other thing was the windows have to relearn their travel distance before the auto function will work.

I have to go out now but will post up some pics this arvo.
Thanks for all the help guys!

Good work in getting them on mate, looking forward to the pics.

However a bit disappointing that you will have to modify the paddle or chop into your leather wheel to get them to work properly.

I had to do about 3 hours driving today and I am very happy with the new paddles! They are always easy to get a finger on, and dont seem to make that annoying click noise the original ones did when you use them.

This is the shot of where the paddle hits the leather. Its not entirely obvious from the photo but that extra bit of the paddle sticking out on the bottom right is firmly digging into the leather underneath it (what the purpose of that bit sticking out is I dont know).

    The finished product.
