Hi all, apologies for the double thread but the one in CA&E forum isn't getting many replies.
Basically I'm looking to retrofit an RNS-510 into my 118TSI and have done the research accordingly - these were the few facts I was able to find out, just let me know if I'm heading in the right direction - also I have a few additional questions of my own, and any help would be appreciated - thanks!
1) Local cars can only run the UK version of the RNS-510 (i.e. 1T0035680B)
2) The "B" version is currently able to run the latest firmware, however the hardware differs physically from the latest "C" version, which is compatible with the latest firmware, and will be compatible with all foreseeable future updates.
3) GPS aerial needed for retrofit, but not the radio aerial.

Questions:
1) Which version hardware ("B" or "C") is currently shipping with this year's Golf MK6?
2) Would the MK6 be compatible with the "B" version given the latest updates? Are there also any known incompatibilities?
3) Is the "B" still a viable alternative to the "C" despite the lack of future firmware upgrades?
4) On eBay there are a couple of "C" versions that are apparently UK sourced, however they carry the serial "3C0035680C". Is this the version I'm looking for? Or is it the "1T0035680C"?
