Rev counter flutter before power is achieved

Hey folks, need some more help with my 2010 Golf GTI. Just had it checked due to a slight rev counter flutter when I press the accelerater, almost like a miss fire. After fault code read they found an intermittent fault p0441 which is an emissions issue. They then checked everything to do with this fault and all is working. The only other reason for this is over filling the petrol tank and fuel has got into the emissions which lead to the charcoal canister. After they said everything was working and things should return to normal it hasn't. I still have the rev counter flutter, it is giving me a delay in power.
This happens in a split second but is noticeable, the revs rise a fraction then decrease a fraction then off they go, almost like it is thinking what to do. There seems to be no loss in performance except the delay in getting it.

Anybody have any ideas about what else this could be?

Note, once the petrol lever clicks, don't put anymore fuel in....

    Thanks
    Adam

Ok, Volkswagen claim that there is an ECU update for this issue. There 1st question was whether it is chipped or not so that they don't wipe any chip data. which it isn't. It has been updated and the issue is still there if not worse. I wonder if I had said yes to the chip that they would have blaimed the chip. They say to give it 500-1000 klm to let it settle in. Are they just fobbing me off?????

Drive it over the weekend and report back. I always fill my tank up to the brim, that wouldn't make any difference to the running of the car that I could see.

The carbon canister is supposed to deal with petrol fumes, I don't see how neat fuel would get to it?

Cheers mate. The overfilling of the tank has sorted itself out with no more error codes being thrown. This rev counter flutter before acceleration seems to be something different and they claim to have fixed it with an ECU update but if anything it's got worse but they say to give it 500-1000 klm to settle in, I think this was just a fob off.

Ok. Not quite 500klm but its got worse. Now it misfires when idling and I rev it and also when I start the car it misses when it the revs go past the idle point. I thought an ECU update would be an instant fix and need no time to settle in. It's settled in and got worse.....

Take it straight back to the dealer. If it's easy to demonstrate, then it'll be easy for them to troubleshoot until they find the fix. (Fingers crossed anyway.)

let us know what happened, it could be a number of things. coil packs, spark plugs.
ive heard of coil packs going really early, 28k km in fact, and then some cars do well over 80k km and nothing.

Could be good news, well at least a diagnoses. They have diagnosed it as the charcoal canister and purge valve again and this time they have ordered the parts and it goes in next Tuesday. This is the same fault as the first time but this time the canister and valve was not working properly and was stuck open. Must have just worked for them the first time they tested as they said it brought up the fault but when tested it all worked.

Thanks for everyone's help and thoughts and I will let you know how I go next Tuesday with the new valve and canister. They say warranty covered too.
