you need to talk to weewilly, the reversing light is one of his greatest complaints.. yes there is only on light
Have a two week old GTI with DSG and having a ball... but
Have searched for this in the manual and in this forum but can't find what the button with the "return arrow" on the right hand side of the steering wheel does.
I assumed it was a reset or go back to previous level, but it does not seem to have a function on my car.
Can anyone set me straight?
Also - reversing lights - only the one on the left works - should it be two? It makes it hard to back down a dark driveway and I have to keep my foot on the brake to get enough light.

the return button is used to navigate back to the main menu when you are in the convenience settings screen of the MFD. I think it only works if the car is stopped. Go into the convenience settings, choose something like windows and then hit the return button and it returns you to the top menu.

It also helps to make the "speed limit exceeded" warning message that appears on the MFD go away so you can return to navigating through your ipod or radio.

I don't have RVC and struggle to see out the back window using the reversing light (the other light is a fog light in case that hasn't been mentioned). I find the best way to reverse at night is to dip the side mirrors down a bit so I can see the road, as it's a bit brighter, and easier to see where the edge of the road is. You can fold them in a bit (just the glass, not the whole mirror) to see a bit behind the car as well. Not ideal but usually sufficient.
