8 combinations is not too helpful - ECS tuning sells them about $101 USD each, unless someone wants to be adventurous and get all 8 combination it's a bit of a russian roulette

There's reference to all 8 in this thread : Did someone try this to install?

But, there are about 5-6 with RVCs in them, so that's not much better. By the looks of that link I put in my last post, the loom is more than just the RVC stuff anyway, so unless you wanted to replace all your cabling, you might as well make one up yourself.

Looking at the difference between ECS' version and the Polish eBay guy's one, I actually think the loom will be a bit simpler the way I'll end up doing it, as some of the wiring is already in place and it includes one of the connectors you need to buy as well. Just a matter of figuring out which bits belong where now.

Hehe, at this rate it doesn't look like I'll be buying a RVC anytime soon - maybe your final guide will change my mind still. Hope you get it sorted.

You're the smart one here, let someone else make the mistakes first

So been thinking through this and pretty sure the loom (including a new fuse circuit) is down to 9 parts, total.

    Camera
    AV cable to RNS
3 connectors (and even 2 of these are optional if you're really hardcore with the soldering iron)
    4 wires

    Update for today:

Camera/loom all done now, haven't put it in because I need to get a bit of 5mm tubing for the drainage, but will give it a crack tomorrow and hopefully running the cable from front to back won't be too painful.

BTW, Camera/loom really is a lot simpler than the Mk5 retrofit ones.

Great - hope you've been taking pictures of it to show the rest of us how to do it

Good to hear that it's easy, but have you tested it yet

You 2nd image isn't valid? But I know the site you're referring to and the one in your previous post, both have been helpful, but both only go about half way to helping fit a Mk6, especially if you have LED tails.

Anyway, the new "loom" is much simpler than either the one on my-gti or camel.cc given the differences in the Mk6 vs Mk5 and also with the new version of the camera that seems to be shipping. The parts list is a lot shorter than it used to be, but you will need to know how to work a soldering iron to make it happen.
