It's hard because this is the MK6 Golf forum, and you're asking about retrofitting a MKV Golf with Tiguan parts. People can only answer if they've done it before...

I would say that if you had an RNS510 or RCD510, and then the Tiguan modules, it may have a good chance of working. But I don't know enough about the canbus and any other modules in the MKV to know whether it will work or not...

    Hello Corey,
i know that is MK6 forum.
I can say that tiguan camera+module can work in MKV and MK6 changing the car type to OFFROAD in gateway, but i don't know if will be any error after that doing the autoscan with VCDS.
I think is the same MKV or MK6.

If anyone has tried is very appreciated the feedback
    Tks

Thank you jumpman and rs73. I must admit your responses are encouraging. The obvious answer is wait until my car is delivered. Maybe I'll try and find out from my dealership whether anyone knows for sure what recent RCD510's have looked like (maybe if someone recently had their stock units upgraded to RNS's.) Really would like to have what I need here when the car arrives.

OK I have just ordered by RVC, cables, connectors etc from ECS. Good exchange rate so no better time (and video cable is back in stock).

If you don't have a plastic trim removal set, add it to your order — much cheaper than here.

OK - another RVC successfully installed. Big thanks to Idle for the help in cable install. I am impressed with its operation and especially in parallel parking - the guidlines at left and right provide a great indicator where the rear wheel is. The guidlines are about 10cm wider than the wheels. So if one lines up the line on the gutter corner (corner off road level) the wheels end up on the boundary of tar and kerb.

    Installation Notes
The cable was the hardest part. This is where 'Idle' helped brief me on the job, and to run the cable. Surprisingly, the part at the front and down the side lifting trims is relatively easy. Getting up the rear C pillar (and pulling of hatch entry trim to get at the base of the C pillar) was the messy part along with feeding through the rubber boot joining the hatch and body. About 2 hours with Idle's help. I liked his cable feeder - a piece of model airplane fuel line tube (a hollow, reasonable stick plastic tube with just the right amount of flexibility) which was used to pull some garden twine (which then could pull through the cable).

The electricals took a few hours, but were routine. Just one wire (reverse) to strip and solder through. I used connectors for all others. For those with LED tail lights (like mine) it is the inner wire on the connector. A few discoveries on the connectors and repair wires - I knew the repair wire connectors plugged into the connectors, but I didn't know some of the connectors had a sliding purple cable 'trap' which locks the connectors in place. Not obvious on one of hte connectors - one had to look inside it.

Other than that, post a double check, it worked first time! Then taped up excess cable and carefully reinstalled trim. Part that fit the worst was the hatch light access panels at left and right. These just don't fit well (and look like they ever did). I don't think I damaged them - just suspect I never looked that closely. I would also note I didn't redo the fuse panel to add another power distribution fuse, but just used a piggy back fuse holder (Idle suggestion).

Anyway - very happy with the RVC - I think it fantastic. If anyone in the area needs some help, send me a PM (it made a big difference having some tips from Idle for me, and I would like to pass on knowledge gained to others).

Glad you had success. I'd like to have the RVC but am not confident about wiring and removing the rear trim without breaking anything. The only reason I added the radio, bluetooth, and MDI were due to their plug'n'play nature and comprehensive guides with photos.

would love to get more insight into the later section with c pillar, the only reason why I was reluctant to pull C pillar parts part after haing the RVC sitting around for a few months now!
