    Replacement Screws and Bolts

    Hey guys,

So I have this torx bolt that has been stripped in my TSI. Is there anywhere to get a replacement for it? Please see pictures attached. I've looked up methods on how to remove it (i.e. cut into it so a flat head screw driver can fit), but if you guys have any other suggestions I am more than happy to see it.

    Thanks.

Tap a spline bit into it.

    Get a replacement from VW.

Thanks for the reply, Umai. Can I go into any VW dealership and just pick up the part?

They'll have to order it in, but it won't be any more than a day or two.

You could try vise grip pliers on the head to remove it.

Also, you could try a wreckers for the screw or even a socket head (allen) bolt of the correct length and thread (and washer)

just grab it with vice grips - I doubt it's very tight.

Replace it (and maybe the remainder on that component) with a allen head or a hex head from your local fastener shop.
