Unusual Ticking Noise - Golf TSI

Okay so my Golf has been making this noise for about 2 months now and when it first started it wasnt this loud.

So i turn my on and its fine, after it warms up and its idling it starts making a ticking noise "tic tic tic tic tic" when i accelerate on nuetral the ticking gets faster until you cant hear it over the revs. The thing is when its in nuetral and i press down the clutch it stops completely cant hear anything then when the clutch is up it starts again... it cant be the clutch itself because it drives fine doesnt slip nothing, im thinking clutch bearing or.something else.. Help. Thanks.

Might be the dual mass flywheel - they make noises when they are worn out/failing.

    Injectors make a ticking noise.

Bugger. Generally if you need a new clutch you will also have to replace the dual mass flywheel. You may be able to get away with not replacing it (which will save considerable money) but just be prepared just in case.

If you source a Sachs clutch direct from Sachs or Valeo (Sachs make the OEM clutches for VW) no doubt it will be cheaper than buying through the dealer.

Even if the flywheel is good change it as well, I made the mistake of new clutch at 105000klms and then 6 months later new fly wheel.

Earlier clutches did this if ridden etc. the springs in the plate get loose, grab your old pressure plate and move the middle splines around and you will see how much movement it has. How old is your golf? You may be able to get goodwill
