Removing mirror covers

hi all just picked up some carbon fibre mirror covers for my GTI. How do you get the existing covers off, so I can put the new ones in? I cracked glass trying to remove the glass already😩😩. Anyone got a passenger side mirror handy as well😝

You shouldn't crack the glass if you're careful...
