Did you go to every dealership in Brisbane when you went looking for a car ? Did you drive every demo car ? A car thats flashed a demo car then sold as a demo 7-10k km later can have the costs recouped . Flashing a brand new car would make little sense . Thats why dealers have demo cars and sold/ordered cars .

Why would dealers sell flashed cars without telling the buyer when the chances of Volkswagen finding out is high and why would they put their dealership at risk?

In the case of demo cars why wouldn't they flash back to stock or get a partial refund from the company doing the flashing (or even have an arrangement with them to push their product in return for free or cheap flashes of demo cars).

What would the dealer have to gain by selling a car that's flashed without telling the buyer?

I said that dealers sell flashed cars . And they do .

Why would VW dealers do it ? Probably because there are no guidelines in place for selling chipped cars . Dealers add it as an accessory when selling a car . On more than 1 occassion we were given an APR brochure and told we can flash the car at the dealership . Its that simple Maverick .
