    Reducing stone chips

    Hey guys,

I was just curious to see what you might do to stop or reduce stone chips around the front of your Golf... I know that you can get a car bra but not keen on that. It just seems like every time i wash my car i find new chips. very frustrating as some of you might be aware.

Clear wrap it if you don't like car bras

I don't like wrap myself but it is popular and effective. I had a bonnet protector / car bra which I use on long distance runs which seems to limit the problem

3M Venture Shield is one of the more popular.

Not sure who applies it in Perth though.

I have 3M ventureshield on the entire front of my car as well as a few other scratch prone areas.

Had Tony from Perth Graphics Centre in Malaga apply it and he did a fantastic job. I have a feeling that they have a contracter who does the installations for them now though, maybe give them a call if your keen.

Where did you get the car bra from mate? I think it was either you or someone else put up a pic of it a while back?

Go with the film, far better than a car bra.

A car bra causes more damage than what they protect from and look hideous.

Properly installed film will look almost invisible, will not damage paintwork, offers great protection.

I had Ventureshield on my mk6 GTI and it was he best thing I did. After a year and a half of driving I didn't have a nick or scratch on my car. A PGC he also covered the a pillars and full front quarters so essentially the front third of my car was protected. I wish I could get it for the front of the r32 but alas there are already some chips on there so I'd only do it if I got the bonnet resprayed.
