    White for sure.

The mk6 red isn't as stand out as the red on the mk5 was.

I chose CW for my car, but I voted red because I want less CW GTIs on the road.

In all seriousness, I have seen both in the flesh and they both look great. I prefer the white as the red accents on the grill and brakes stand out more.

Red looks good also, and blends in with the overall red theme of the car. I had red for my last car though so I wanted something different this time.

I'd have a red GTI with Tartan and no options.

However, give me the GTD anyday of the week over the GTI when it comes out

I'd rather spend all the options money on aftermarket stuff to make my car's faster

Tornado Red, no question (and I've ordered one).

White isn't a distinctive GTI colour - you can get it on the non-sport Golfs, and from a distance you'd be hard pressed to pick a GTI from a TSI or TDI in CW (although 18s helps). Sure, Candy White is classy and understated, but the GTI is arguably too conservative as-is; I think it needs a more aggressive colour to stand out from the crowd. So it's red all the way for me.

My mum drives a white MkV FSI Sportline - suits her and that (more elegant, less sporty) car perfectly.

I agree, the mk6 red isn't as nice as the mk5 red.. Both good colours though.

The signature colours are always a good choice, just like DBP R32's, there's no question what car you're driving and easily recognisable.

The Red GTI stands out moreso than White. The Mascot (Sydney) dealer has one read GTI and two white GTI's I can see from a distance on an overhead ramp. Always manage to find the Red GTI easily; the're so identifiable. White takes some concerntrated viewing to find, and using its the wheels/brakes calipers that ID the white vehicle moreso than the generic colour. Having said that, looking at red all the time can be a bit taxing. Not to mention red fades faster; better have indoor garage for work & home. Red is also the danger colour that appears to be going faster and may attract the wrong type of attention. Finally, I reckon you should buy a red GTI, for that matter, so should any prospective GTI buyer in NSW.. why? I have ordered a White GTI and I like to feel bit special.

    Cheers.

That's okay Tux, you have special MINI privileges that grant you exemptions.

I'm generally not a huge fan of red cars, but both the Mk5 and Mk6 GTIs look great in red. If I wasn't able to get Candy White that would definitely be my second choice.

I have white with 18s, leather and sunroof and have no regrets. Just went for over a month without a wash and it didn't look too bad (no rain) but could really see the difference after a good clean on the weekend.

Car was parked next to a white Honda S2000 in the sun and it just gleamed with the sun bouncing off the 18's.

Saw a white with 17s on the weekend and like I have said before, the difference is chalk and cheese.

Go any colour (apart from silver) but get the 18s.
