    I'm not sure it's exactly ironic - but it goes with what I was saying above - you can't take a single person's word, only trends from multiple comments. Lorelei may have been desparate to go to the bathroom or something whilst you were talking to her, and so came across rude... who knows

    Lorelai was great with me when Oliver (who multiple other people here have commented positively on) didn't have 2 mins for me!

    Irony lies with the fact that I got better service purchasing a $6 meal than trying to buy a $40k vehicle.
    Obviously we need to accept that we're all humans and that emotions and circumstances play a huge factor in our behaviour, but (and this is a big but) as a consumer you must draw the line and say hey, that was really not up to scratch. If I, as the consumer is unreasonable, then by all means, you as the service provider, may have a case.

    But if you can't speak nicely to a customer, I think that's a basic service 101. It's not as if I'm asking to be treated as a king. I'll bring my money elsewhere and I'll gladly b*tch about it to anyone who cares to listen.

    Yep. But. There are two people who said she gave good service and one who said she gave bad service. Who is to say that it wasn't you who has the issue, or that your expectations are different etc? Hence why I've been saying what I have for the past few pages....

    I think Lorelai has her good days and bad ones but I got her on one of her bad ones. My wife and I had waited patiently for someone to serve us (45mins) at BW and when she came to do so she said to us (before we had the opportunity to say a word of hello) that if we weren't interested in buying a car today she didn't have time for us - those were her exact words.

    Now if that isn't bad customer service, I don't know what is.

    We ended up buying off Russell at Denlo.

    My $0.02:
    I wonder if part of the reason for different experiences is the difference in expectations. Macca's would get very few people that go through the process of purchasing a burger and then decide against it at the last moment or change the order, or offer to pay $4.95 for the $6 burger and want a set of steak knives thrown in as well...
    The same goes for us as customers. With Macca's, in most cases you know what you want and even have an idea of what it's going to taste like before you buy something.
    Once emotions enter the fray on either side, the buying game changes. Does anyone build a house with no hiccups or arguments with the builder? Probably has happened, but not likely.
    The bottom line with dealers would be to shop around for price and service.

    Agree with that. I also now feel like a Big Mac.

    Sales is sales. For sure most sales people are not going to even think about you once you leave with the new car. Service on the other hand (i.e. warranty) is huge to me. If you find poor service at one dealer, try another. There's nothing saying that you have to get your car serviced at the place you bought it.

    Personally, I've always found getting service at authorized service centres OUTSIDE of dealerships are WAY better at providing service.

    Then again, that's my opinion, as we've been saying.

    Not unless the sales floor had two sales people sitting at a desk and chatting to themselves while there were several customers waiting on the sales floor.

    A good sales person would approach them and tell them that everyone is busy and to wait till someone is finished with a customer.

    This happened to me twice at McGraths at Liverpool. Never again will I go there.
