Recommended VW salesman in Sydney

I thought I should add my opinion on this matter as Barloworld Mascot is not appearing to do so well in this topic. On 24 April, 2010 I ordered a Golf GTI, Candy White, DSG, Sat Nav, Leather, Dealer fitted Bluetooth and Rear Parking Sensors. Tracey Ryan was the salesperson, who offered me her time without an appointment. It turned out that this was her last shift before going on holidays and was extremely busy with paperwork. I was impressed with her knowledge of the product, and offered me a good deal first up - without having to haggle. The deal was done and she emailed me the contract. a couple of days ago I was reading through this (very valuable) forum, and saw a post from Coreying explaining that the MY11 Golfs are now offered with Factory Bluetooth. I had also been quite undecided about the 18 inch Detroits. I decided to phone Tracey today to ask her if it was possible to have my order changed if the car had not been put into production. Although she was flat out again, (Fridays being the day when new cars seem to be picked up by their new owners), and she had four going out today, she found time for me. A short conversation with the Stock Controller confirmed I could change my order to the Factory Bluetooth - and save $200 in the process. Whilst I was there I asked about adding the Detroits to my order as well, and Tracey organised that and gave me a good discount on them as well! I guess I was impressed with her service as she already had me signed up to a contract, yet was still keen to give me her time.

got mine from nepean motor group. everythere was attentive and greeted you as soon as u walked in.
price was matched to another dealer.. no haggling needed. reason i didnt buy from other dealer was because delivery took longer by 6 weeks
also get free extended warranty with the dealer if u service with thenm.. though its a bi out of way..

Thats great to hear! i just want to know, that If you ordered your car in APRIL.. why its still can be changed this late.. did they even order you anything yet?

Yes they have, on 29 October 2009 - which I guess was a stock order from Barloworld. They apparently just change the specifications to what I wanted. They originally told me the car was going into "handover to production" on 29 May, 2010, but now I don't know. Tracey said she will keep me informed. It didn't have have anything to do with me changing the order yesterday, the production date had already been deferred for some reason. I guess I will just have to wait...

That's great news for you, but a bummer for me.

Why worry? So you get your car a bit later - What is the big deal about getting having the car before everyone else? So that one can brag about it?
In your case, you will be getting all the factory installed accessories you want and a car with a later build date which IMO is a blessing in disguise.

I'm sorry if I conveyed the wrong message back to hooba - I am sincerely glad he is getting his car soon, and after I said "thanks for rubbing salt into my wounds", I should have put a LOL. It's sometimes hard to correctly convey your emotions in the written form. (But I'm still a little scared of Maverick!)
