    rear washer drips

I came across this issue on a UK forum and since then I started noticing it on my car too.

I can't pin-point exactly when it happens but I notice it every single day after wiping the water mark on the glass. Beleive me - you'll notice this too as it is always in your view every single time you look at the rear view mirror.

Happens to my GTI all the time, especially when I take off in a hurry.

Maybe we should drive'em slowly - but that's not what it says in the manual.

My GTi had this issue when I first got it but I read in an overseas site that it's due tot he washer bottle being too full.

So I ran it down by running the wpiers on the front for a few minutes and the leak has stopped. It seems way too simple a fix, but it has worked.

The last leak I had from the rear washer was in early Feb and I drive it daily.

I'm hoping that is the solution. The dealer found nothing (of course) and told me that sometimes the washer in the nozzle takes a while to 'seat' and it will then be OK. Who knows? It's a bit shocking though that after 34 years of making Golf hatches that a hatch washer is leaking.....

I'm now onto the dealer about the creaking in my door rubbers - driving me nuts over any bumps or uneven cornering. You'd think the car was so flexible you could bend it with your hands the way it sounds. I've read that BMWs can have the same issue and some greasing could fix it. Let the experiments begin.....

That's good feedback. Thanks for this

Yup I've got this exact same issue. It only occurrs when accelerating hard or going up a steep hill or a combination of both.

I've booked it in tomorrow for the service guys to look at it but if the fix is simply to not fill it up so much then I can live with that!

So can anyone else confirm whether reducing the level of your washer fluid resolves the rear washer drip ?
