Doesn't fix it for me. Well now that I think about it, it does eventually, if I reduce the level to zero but you know what I mean.

    Hey Guys,

I just got back from taking my car into the dealership for this exact problem and was told that there was nothing wrong with it. The seals were sitting correctly and the services guys had said that the washer was working as designed.

Based on this, it's probably safe to assume that it isn't a part fault but a design flaw.

I actually read in a forum somewhere (can''t remember where) that the same rear washer system is used in another VAG car (also, can't remember which one) except that the Golf version differs in that there is an extender tube that is used because of where it is mounted in the rear spoiler. It has been suggested that the water that is dripping is residual water left in this extender tube.

This should mean that once it has started dripping if you don't use your washer for a few days it should eventually stop, until you use it again and refill the extender tube. This is my experience also.

    Make sense?

    Back window washer dribble ?

I've owned my gti nearly a week now. and absolutely loving it.

But one thing driving me absolutely nuts is this constant dribble from the rear washer that leaves water stain marks down the back window !

Is there some way to fix this. Absolute nuisance, nice new car and every time look in the rear view mirror see a dribble stain down the back. You give it a wipe and before you know it, its dribbling again.

anyone know how to make it stop, its only a little dribble, not sure what tiggers it, never seen it actually dribble, just notice the wet stains and streak marks.

Do I need to ask the dealer to do something to fix it. seems a pain given not even had it a week !

ps I did about four searches before posting this thread so corey if you reckon this has been done before your more than welcome to stick this where ever it takes your fancy !

I think problem was that water container is too full and you just need to use more water and it stops dripping.... (worked for me)

Does this mean new cars on the way to Aus will not have this issue?

Just an idea for admins ... create 1 sticky post with common questions and answers (like this one)
update it as we go ... (answers can be links to the posts or just short summary)

I know its fair a bit of work but will make life a lot easier for everyone

^^ that's a good idea. The search function on here needs an APR upgrade.

Then I shall await a call from my Perth dealer. I haven't mentioned it to them (I only noticed it doing it recently, then it stopped, and it came back again today), but I'm sure I'll be getting one very shortly.

As long as it doesn't cost $1800.
