    Quirky Quirky Questions

Sorry to ask a question, I did try to lookup but could not find the answer. I'm sure it's very trivial, now in my MFD, 'Mirror Down' is selected but when I engage the Reverse Gear, my side mirrors or at least even one of them does not tilt to show me the curb.

Secondly, is anyone experiencing their rear window water jet squirting water out randomly? I've noticed that my car had water dried water trails on the rear window, I wiped it clean then the next few hours it's there again! I checked the wipers and it's not turned on, confirmed it's turned off.

Not sure about the first part as my car doesn't have the mirror down stuff. The second part is a known issue and your dealer can fix it.

The auto tilting mirror function is explained in the owner's manual. Gotta search thoroughly

Call VW to arrange for them to replace the leaking nozzle. Apparently they need to remove the whole spoiler to do that.

I think you also need to have the left mirror selected with the rotary switch (nothing will happen unless it's powered.)

The rear washer jet dripping has been a common complaint — check with your dealer for the fix (there is one...)

A known issue? Damn, I just found the post regarding this, and in the post Corey_R lecturing someone about posting something about this without doing a proper search, "i'm sorry, please delete this thread, ive become one of the offenders".

I figured out the mirror down thing, it must be turned on in the MFD, and the mirror selector must be pointed to L (left). Then when you engage reverse it dips down so you can see the curb in addition to the RVC.

    It mostly doesn't by standard.

    The 77TSI never has it.
For the Trendline, Comfortline, GTI or GTD, you need Park Assist.
Only the Golf R has it standard.

Do you have the mirror switch rotated to the left mirror. It only tilts when the switch is in that position and the car is in reverse.

Yep had the same problem, not sure what they do to fix it, not much I assume as I waited at the dealership for about 90 minutes whilst they replaced 'something'.

It seems to be OK now.

Here's a quirky quirky question; occasionally my windscreen wipers will randomly wipe once for no apparent reason. They have done so when someone in front decides to engage window washer and I get some overspray, that I can appreciate. But usually when it happens there's no rain about. Any idea what's going on?

I get that too, I just think the rain sensor isn't very reliable while driving in the dry. It does say in the manual that dust, insects and similar object if it comes into contact with the sensor can trigger it. So I've got mine turned off.
