Quick / Short Shift Kits for MK6

I have done a search on the forums including this one of course and was wondering if anyone has fitted a short throw kit on a mk6 GTI and what their experiences are.

With Oz$, looking good, I am trying to decide between the DieselGeek unit (Sigma 6 speed Short Shift Kit by www.dieselgeek.com) or the Neuspeed (Transmission : Neuspeed®). Some people say the Neuspeed is better because it has a counterweight, while other believe the DieselGeek better because it is a complete replacement unit ?

I've seen people mention short shifting kits many times on this forum, as the MK6 manual gearbox in the GTI and R is often critised for being too long. The brand most people mention though is Forge. I've no idea if they even have a kit for the MK6 cause I'm not interested in the manual when there's a DSG available, but Forge would be worth investigating too if its available.

Perhaps you can be the guinea pig for us? I like the diesel geek one as you said because it replaces the end linkage attachments as well and is both side-side fore-aft reduction.

Forge also make one but you have to buy the two separately and its so much more expensive. It also doesnt have the linkages attachments, you reuse your old ones. The yanks love the dieselgeek and i know thats what ill get eventually!

Dieselgeek Sigma 6 Quickshift Kit on Golf R

    Hello fello Veedubbers,

Installed the DG Sig 6 on my Golf R today and i have to say im very happy with the results!

With the stock shifter i found myself hitting my knuckles on the console panel when shifting into 1st, 3rd, 5th...now i don't get anywhere near it!

Shift action is very short and precise albeit a little notchier than stock but apparently this will ease as parts bed into each other.

Installation is very easy with the right tools (Gear puller/slide hammer, Plastic pry tools, 13mm Socket, 3/8 ring/open end spanner, torx socket, 4 & 6mm allen sockets) and takes approx 1hr.

I know the policy, no photo's mean it doesn't exist, lol, but there are heaps of pics on the DG site and in their instructions.

Any questions, feel free to msg me.

    Cheers.
