Met up with SMCC today and got the coding all sorted - thanks again.
As I pulled away the GPS location was going all stupid (map moving around erratically). I thought I might have to turn back but then I remembered others saying it happened to them and it all sorted itself out after 10 mins - which it did for me.
The microphone works well for calls, but it doesn't seem to work for voice control, despite following the provided instructions. To be honest, it's not a feature I was planning on using much, so I'll leave it be for now.
There is one thing I would mind trying to setup (perhaps someone has already done similar). In the MFD, there's a part that shows the outside temperature. If I enable the Alternate Speed Unit setting, it changes to my speed in MPH. Would love to see if I could get the KPH speed to display there permanently instead, so that I can use the MFD for Nav, Phone, etc. Either that, or I could just check my speed the old fashion way :p
There's a shop in Dandenong that quoted me ~$300 to install a "box" that recalibrates the speed on the fly to make it accurate. On my car, 108kph on the digital display = 100kph on the GPS, and on council speed checker signs. It's out by 8%, since in a 50kph zone I would have to drive at 54kph to be accurate. It's no wonder people get annoyed on the freeway when they're stuck behind someone who's driving at an 'indicated' 95kph to be safe when they're really doing around 87kph in a 100 zone.

Sorry for reviving the old thread but, I'd like to know, if there is enough space in MK6 behind the radio for the added connectors that come with the bluetooth unit wiring. I'm having a fun getting the RNS510 back in in MY11 RS Octavia. I didn't remove anything above or below radio, yet (it was getting dark yesterday). See my original post in Skoda section http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f86/...tml#post622765
edit: all sorted now.![]()
