Just make sure that Griffin truly does send the audio via the iphone connector first and not all the way via the pictured double ended 3.5mm lead that its depicted.

Yeah ive looked up vids for it already. Basically plug phone into dock, and base of dock is the 3.5mm jack to connect to car aux input. So no other wires are needed to be plugged into phone.

I already have a monster 3.5mm cable routed from my aux in the glove box to the front of the car near the coin tray so should stay relatively hidden.

Device Holders and Dashboard Vehicle Mounts - ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices choose Australia to get right hand mount. It is a dock that in fact is in 2 pieces takes 5 min to install. I don’t use bumper for my Iphone so the item numbers for mine were: Item #: 604262 ($30) & Item No. 516164 ($70) due to my cable going to MDI which I am glad works perfect! Bit expensive I guess but its very well made and the fact the dock is compatible is great.

If you are after a simple neat installation that works well this might fit the bill. On the rear of the charger there is a USB outlet to charge other stuff AND a 3.5mm outlet to feed the audio to your MK6. You can quite readily run a lead from this back to your AUX input in the center armrest.

The cradle itself allows the phone to rotate between 9, 12 & 3 O'Clock positions if you prefer it landscape. The button at center bottom contains and extra Mic for hands free use. Single Press the button to answer or hang up calls. Double & Triple press does other stuff which I cannot recall.

Main bummer is you also need to plug the 3.5mm lead visible at top left of the phone in, to get "audio out" feeding down to the other end of the device and its 3.5mm outlet.

If you dont do this it still charges fine and uses the phones speaker. But the audio does not pass on to your Aux input.

There are two version of this Belkin iPhone kit. This one with the 3.5mm Aux out and another that included an FM transmitter. I wouldn't recommend the FM transmitter version as it has had bad reviews. Both still require you to plug the 3.5mm jack into the phone itself for audio to feed to your car.

Still it is a solution to consider for the Iphone MK6 combination. It is fairly neat and tidy, Charges the Iphone well, can be used with a case on the phone and it feeds audio to the car if you can be bother to hook up the 3.5mm leads.

PS forgot to mention it cost ~ $60 from memory.

My iPhone 4 fits perfectly between the tacho and speedo over the mdf. Have tomtom on it so having it right there is perfect. No good for charging though.
