There's a way top get around it tho.
You are able to get a letter of exemption from vic roads if your parents onl own cars that are more powerful.
My dad has a V8 Merc and so i should be alroight.

I don't know the VIC laws but the NSW ones out and out say it's not a guarantee you'll get an exemption just because your parents own it, even if it's the only car available.
