    Hi Simon

    Thanks for the update!

What are you getting done exactly? If you don't mind, how much have they quoted you?? (including labour)

Also, I guess you can't have this done during the dealer delivery stage prior to pick-up?.....or can you??

I'm definitely interested in having this done too....

I have been quoted $968 installed for standard kit + full bonnet + door handle cups. The same thing from Surfacetech was $965. So I pay an extra $3 not to drive to Sydney - sounds good to me.

I was very keen on the G|Techniq from Surfacetech too (extra $295 when done with the PPF), but will get Zaino paint sealant done by Saad here in Canberra.

I could probably get the PPF done as part of dealer delivery, but I'm going to get Saad to do a new vehicle treatment & protection inside and out, including paint correction just to make sure there are absolutely no mars in the paint before the film goes on, then seal it all afterwards.

Wow, now that's one comprehensive treatment and no doubt an expensive one!

How much is Saad's wonderwork setting you back? Does this include fabric protection and the like??

I would love to have all of this done but it's quite damaging to the wallet!

Yeah - it's not a cheap exercise, but I see it as investment that will help me keep the car clean, and that will keep the paint looking great when it comes time for resale.

$1000-1500 on a solution that works is much better than $1000-2000 on some of those dealer provided services that don't provide nearly as much protection.

Saad's work (two of the cars he detailed for the German Autofest in Canberra recently won awards at that event) is (from page 1 of this thread):

He has said that a post-film sealant with three layers of Zaino sealant (recommended by DMS_Dan in this thread: Wax vs Polish - The Difference) would cost around $130, and a full new car detail package (wash, paint decontamination, stage 1 paint correction, full vacuum inside, application of UV protectant and leather conditioner, sealant application (post paint film)) would cost around $500.

Be careful what you mean by "full ventureshield kit".
Because to get your full car wrapped you're looking at $3 to 4k.
I figure this isn't what you mean, but everyone has different definitions of "full kit".

It will be the full bonnet, front bumper including all the slats, headlights, full front guards, wing mirrors & A pillars.

Am currently looking into Nanolex premium paint sealer and just doing the paint protection myself.

If you get the A pillar's done (which I recommend), make sure you also get the leading edge of the roof. (I'm getting it back to the front edge of the sunroof, just cause it's there).

As for looking into Nanolex, it's an equivalent to G|Techniq. Put it on the paint and on the Ventureshield. It's not a replacement for Ventureshield though. Nanolex and G|Techniq will help reduce swirl marks from washing, and paint corrosion from bugs etc (inc discolouration of the ventureshield from bugs), for a few years. No sealant will protect from paint chips from stones etc.
