You could check around for other Recaro's - much will depend on whether you want Recaro branding. If you want the Recaro brand, then you can look at lots of choices. Although, and this is true, Recaro do license their name to others for use on non-Recaro seats but allow them to put the Recaro name on it. For example, the Recaro seats in the XR5 are not made by Recaro at all, but by one of Ford's seat manufactures. Cheeky but I guess if you can get away with it...

Thats downright ugly!! I mean I know someone with an XR5 and they are pretty happy that they own "Recaro's".

    Surely that not fair trading..

Recaro sell them to Volkswagen, Volkswagen is their customer.

Why not buy them from Volkswagen spare parts, if you really want them just pay the price.

    not even close.
the closest recaro to the oem jobbies are the Recaro Sportster.

These are light a buggery, expensive as buggery, comfy as buggery and in my honest opinion looks less out there than the VW OEM seats.. and oh yeh they are used in a lot of OEM manufacturers such as lotus evora, Ford Focus RS, Renaults... etc etc etc

I am thinking that they'd be pretty costly.

been down this path before.. the only way VW will sell them to you via spare parts is to LITERALLY buy them as parts PIECE by PIECE and rebuild the seats yourself. that comes up to a grand total of 7k for the seats.

quite frankly VW were just being ridiculous.

i run recaro sportsters in mine and i like how they look and it looks very factory oem

Yeah - those were the ones that I linked to earlier. I agree that they're the closest you'll get to the OEM seats...

I'd say the best way to pick up an aftermarket set is to cruise the online forums in UK and US and wait for a Golf R to be wrecked.

What about the seats in the Audi RS4, S3(option) or TTRS, they look very similar

Yeah I'd be good with a set of those. They look great. Where would one find a wrecker in Sydney for those? What would you expect to pay?

Those seats look even better than the stock OEM ones. Really very nice stuff thats for sure.

Yeah, I want them bad, but I could not part with $11200 for 2 seats.. Ouch. Thats too much for me man for what It is. If it was for Lambo seats in a Lambo Id say ok, but not for a 60-70k car. (Even a 100K car).

But you get what you pay for and they look amazing. I was sort of hoping around $7000 aftermarket.

Keeping in mind you can buy a small, whole vehicle for about $3000.
