Nice work Doc! Pity you are collecting the car in July.....a run home via Mt Hotham in summer would be fantastic.

U collecting from Gerald Slaven or Lennocks?

    Enjoy the drive.

Gerald Slaven. Phillip and Trent have been looking after me. They have been great, especially on the communication front. A big thanks also goes to Dermot from WA. If it wasn't for the distance......both gave me great prices without stuffing me around.

I would've looked at a car in Melbourne but Barloworld Bayside didn't call after they said they would. Bizarre, I went in on Friday and said I wanted to buy a car in the next few days and sales person said they would call, and didn't. Oh well, their loss.

They are good there aren't they? I didn't buy from them but they were bloody helpful and I will buy my next from them.

I did the reverse Melb-Syd drive and came over through Cooma. Much more interesting than the Hume.

Yeah.... I'd advise to find the most interesting route you can take... instead of the very boring, and very straight/flat hume.... you need some good "break in" roads

The VW wait issue is starting to get more press.. I responded to the surveys they sent and ripped into the wait period.. my gripe was the lack of recognition for those that chose to do so

New wheels grind to a halt

We're keeping the RS. Great family car. In another 12 months we will probably upgrade to the Suberb. So happy with the Skoda, so GTI should be alot of fun. Wife gets the Skoda, except on Karting weekends when I need to tow the trailer. Works out well.

Its a question of managing expectations if you ask me matey. My dealer and the people I deal with there were always very transparent about the amount of time it would take to get one in. 'You can order one for sure, but you're looking at a nine month wait at the moment' they said, so not as if they said, yeah mate 8 weeks. I could have got one sooner but I wanted my options and spec and lets be honest it cost less doing it that way too.

Its actually arriving a couple of months sooner then they said it would and they have ben communicative and friendly the whole way. I've purchased from them before and I would do so again.

So true I'm currently getting the bus and saving at the moment as I had to give my old car back to my old company but I know exactly where the car is and bar any mishaps know when it will be delivered....

I do feel for those you have been given false information, but that's a world away from my experience.

Supply and demand my friends, supply and demand. You need to remember we have all chosen to live in the 'arse end of nowhere'.....
