Mine due to dock on 10/5.......dealer still saying late June delivery????
Late June? That's a long time!
I asked my dealer, and he said max should be around 3 weeks. And he said he's overstating it so that I don't get disappointed.
Golf R 5 door United Grey | DSG | ACC | Leather | Bluetooth | 19" Talladega Black
My Golf R was discharged from the Torino at Port Kembla on 13 April, delivered to the dealers 460km away on 20 April, and was ready to be picked up on 21 April (although I can't pick it up until Wednesday as I've been out of town). I can't understand how your R can take more than 3 weeks when mine took 8 days and had to be transported 460kms from Port Kembla.
Current: MkV GTI |Ordered 9 August: Golf R MY11.5 | DSG | 5 Doors | Black | Leather | 19" Black Talladegas | ACC | MDI | Bluetooth | Electric Driver's Seat | Built: 11 Feb | Delivery: 27 April |
Mine arrived in the country on the 19 April (according to Gold Coast VW).
Using my powers of deduction, this was on the Manon and it arrived in Melbourne around this time...
Surely it would be easier for this car to be dropped off in Brisbane (which is due at the Port of Brisbane today), as oppose to arriving in Melbourne, then trucking it all the way to sunny QLD???

WOW! Port Kembla are usually one of the slowest ports and compliance centres. This is unbelievable turn around!!
But just because you've set a new record for NSW, doesn't mean everyone else will get it that quick. Back in December, it took almost 4 weeks for my R to be delivered from the same port...
I believe so - excuse my ignorance, but why does a dealer swap mean it has to be transferred by road? Wouldn't the port guys just leave it there for it to be delivered in Brisbane? It is extra transportation costs this way.......Did u get a dealer swap? - That may be the reason it is being transported by road.

No, the car needs to be delivered to the dealer who ordered it. Thus if the original dealer was in NSW, the car gets off at Port Kembla, then gets transfered to QLD via road.
