Sometimes when it's 1am, and I can't sleep even though I need to get up for work at 7am, I just get dressed again and go for a drive in my R... seriously, it's that good guys! You'll quickly forget the wait once it's arrived.

I have been debating whether or not that it is a good thing participating in this forum ( or any other VW forum for that matter) as I am divided in thought if in fact the discussion about shared experience of the R is making the situation better or worse.
I realise comments about how the pain of the wait will be forgotten post delivery are in good and positive spirit but it is a fact you are no longer waiting..
Does my head in.. makes me want to ring the dealer and wring any remnants of information which in 4 months they fail to have about when my unit might arrive, knowing that I will be told 3 things 1) not the original date they indicated on the contract 2) 2 months later than they told me last time and 3) they have no idea
I figure if I shut down all stimulation it may ease the frustration

Have almost finalised an order on a new Golf GTI (DSG). Keen on your thoughts on whether im getting the best possible offer as im a first time VW buyer
5dr
Carbon Steel
18" Detroit
MDI
Sat Nav w BT
Leather
Sunroof
M1 Tint
$52600
Quoted $1200 for Park assist inc camera, etc or $700 for rev sensors
Have been told by a few people that it's a good deal - what is depreciation like?
Qns - is leather heated? Electric standard or optional?
Thanks for your advice and thoughts!
Mate the price is fantastic... over 10%.
Park Assist is $1400 and camera is $500, so $1900 option for only $1200 is great. It's a factory option though. $700 for Rev sensors is standard... although if that includes the dealer installation, I guess that's fine.
Leather includes heated seats and electric lumbar support. Electric seat adjustments for the drive side is $600 - but doesn't include memory (it does include 8 way adjusting instead of 6 way though, if that's important to you).
Well it depends.. when do they say it is going to be delivered.. it sort of becomes irrelevant after 5 months waiting

Delivery whenever im ready tp pick it up!!
I assume that would mean no electric seating adjustment would need to be factory so not available to me unless i want delivery in August by the sounds of it.
Price includes corporate discount and under Novate no GST is payable so i guess im laughing by the sound of it?!
I should probably check on the camera/sensor price - maybe i have the park assist thing mixed up, the sales person wasnt THAT generous but sounds like he looked after me!
Then you indeed are in the black.. congrats on all counts

Cheers - here's to joining the VW club (and hopefully keeping my license after the speed upgrade from a princessly SP23)
I ordered my car on 7 Sept and took delivery on 5 Jan this year. All up 3 months wait but like a lot of the people here, the car is so worth the wait. Very happy with the purchase (but then again, I'm coming from a 07 Honda Civic so it's a massive 'upgrade' lol)
