We took our 1 week old girl on her 1st outing yesterday, to pick up the GTI! Our 2yo loves the free poptop orange juices the salesman gave her every time we popped in over the last week or 2.

Brought the car home and 5 minutes later the buyers of our old BA falcon arrived to pick up the car. I love it when a plan comes together!

I was looking forward to driving to work in the GTI today but now its started raining

    Hey Corey

Have you found out yet why your car is taking so long ?
Hate to say it but if it is still at Patricks, is there any chance it sustained some damage on the ship ?

It's just the luck of the draw of when your car gets procesed. Patrick's don't know which order we bought out cars, nor do they care.
I'm not worried about the car having sustained damage on the ship. Patrick's wouldn't fix that anyway. But I got word yesterday that Patricks were finishing it (and a few others from the MC they still have) and deliverying them Monday. Of course, my dealer is one of those who've outsourced pre-delivery, so I won't be picking it up until 13th December. Which is actually find for me, because I'm working literally every day until then and couldn't pick it up earlier anyway.

Although i haven't taken delivery, Just received THE CALL from my dealer.... The Black has arrived at the dealership, the wait is over!!! OMG.
Dealership has agreed to provide upgraded Bluetooth (voice activation) at no charge. This offer was a direct result of this Forum and the great people involved, we should ALL support for a measly 25 bucks!!!!
Has created quite a stir, dealership staff have all come around to see 3dr B on B on B. Pre-delivery will take a couple of days with Fusion protect and 2nd window tint going on.... So will be picking up on Monday, hopefully boss will give me that day off to play...
Photos to follow later in week, promise.

Mashes, theres been a few posts on this subject. Like me, you may have been told by the Dealer that the factory Bluetooth option has limitations such as no Iphone connectivity and limited ability to upload Contacts, no voice activation. That there is a Premium Bluetooth kit available after market for about a grand. I don't know about the delays with GTI's but those of us who bought 'Rs' and are currently taking delivery bought 5 to 6 six months ago when the Bluetooth factory option was in fact limited. However this has changed of late and the BT factory option is far better on recently delivered Rs, so the need for after market has been eliminated. I would go further and say that the factory fitted option is in fact better than the Premium kit because of the voice activation.
this is how I see it.

The dealers don't have a team of people that are able to get all the cars prepped for delivery, accessories fitted, cars washed and detailed, run through the checklist, sort out payment, pickup time, registration and so forth in 24 hours but instead they have to spread them out until the next delivery arrives. Having a heap of staff sitting around idle isn't really good practice.

Yeah - hence why, as I've said a few times already, some dealers (including yours REXman) have outsourced this. So now they can't even put on a rush job if they wanted to! Just have to roll with it unfortunately.
