Don't forget how long it can take to get through customs and dealer delivery etc. If it gets here on 1st November, it'll take 2 or 3 weeks before you can pick it up (customers, transport, dealer delivery etc). So it's more like a month and a half to 3/4

Hey my Golf R is on the same ship...Matter of fact their very similiar in config except for your DSG and I'm 6spd manual.
I'm following the Faust vessel voyage live on the internet. My dealer says mid/end Nov delivery. I'm in Melbourne and getting very excited too! The wait is killing me!

Well today I finally did it. I popped the deposit down and ordered my new Golf R from South Yarra VW. Here are the details:

2011 Build Golf R Candy White 3 DR Manual
19" Talladega alloys (Black)
Vienna Leather
Electric Glass Sunroof

Bluetooth
Adaptive Chassis Control
Dynaudio Premium Audio System
MDI

Delivery: Late March 2011

I really can't fault South Yarra VW, they have been amazing, and I would reccomend them to anyone. Those who have been keenly following my price haggling and hunting will know that I negotiated an amazing price for the car (no other dealer would beat it). I'm getting tint done by Sth Yarra VW after delivery for $250 (down from 695!? what a crazy asking price). Now the 6 month wait is on... Bring it!

Thanks to all on VWWatercooled for the advice and the help and also for the Golf R price calculator. It was extremely useful.
