Well after almost 5 months wait I am picking up my GTI today, can't wait! The weather in Sydney really sucks for it though. I hope the rain holds off this afternoon or my brand new GTI will be filthy in 5 seconds...

I picked up my GTI on late Wednesday (there was some confusion with the trade in and finance).

Three small issues - for some reason the instructions for turning off DRLs don't work (obviously I'm not doing it right), the car was poorly cleaned on the outside, bluetooth can't make calls without using the phone directly - not sure if this is the bluetooth I got or whether there's actually a problem.

DRL's switch off when you pull indicator stalk in and down - hold until you hear the beep. the ignition can be on when you do it.

re the BT. Which BT and which phone?
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....

Problem 1 is I have an iphone but tried another phone and it acted the same way. Pretty sure I have the basic factory bluetooth, but I expected to be able to use the phone button to make calls as well as recieve...not that I've tested receiving a call yet either (maybe a poor explanation when it was ordered by the dealer).

I didn't know about the beeping with the DRLs, as that's not mentioned in the manual. Will try again with that.

try using teh rhs steering wheel control buttons to move left and right pages. this may tell you what BT unit you have. (ie, fiscon/kufatec). f so, the RHS OK button is how you answer the calls. to make teh call use teh touchscreen RCD/RNS or the RHS SW buttons and you can get to yur phone's phonebook/missed/dialled numbers etc etc (this is with the Kufatec Fiscon unit)

Nothing phone related appears by using the RHS wheel controls. The 'phone' button on the RCD just mutes the sound. The phone button on the wheel does nothing except pressed twice to initially connect to the phone on setup.

Had a go for DRLs and waited about 10s for a beep, but no beep. Tried ingnition on and off.
