IIRC, you ordered the Lakin plates for your GTI - is that what I can see covering the stock lugs on the numberplate bracket there? How does it look in the flesh? Any chance of any side-profile shots? Did you get a rear plate as well? And did your dealer fit the plates for you, or was it a DIY?

Collected my baby last Saturday. Loving it!

• Alarm system and Fiscon bluetooth being fitted next week.

It looks awesome - was a bit worried about what the corn leather would look like but its awesome - I'm so happy with it.
Dealer handover all went well - considering getting the extended warranty.
Now to read the handbook!

I'll post my story about the plate brackets in the Best Number Plate Style thread when I get a chance to take some close up pics.
In short, the dealer fitted the rear plate, then I bought the GTI home and fitted the front & rear brackets etc. The rear bracket is perfect, but the front takes some stuffing around to get it right. I had to bend it a bit to get it to shape with the original plate bracket and I'm not all that happy with it.
Anyway, i'll post a detailed "story" soon (it's too nice of a day here in Sydney for the GTI to be sitting in the garage )

Congrats..... i am picking mine as well this week, went to see the car in Barloworld GW backyard...was very emotional to see my baby after 6 months wait....wrapped in sheets she was smiling at me ....saw couple of other GTIs as well there 2 black, one CSG & one white....all the best with your new car .............

I bought mine today. I got the 3DR in Carbon Steel, DSG, DynoAudio, Xenon's, Active Chassis, Detroits. Man I wanted the leather pretty bad, but on the 2door you lose the electronic functions so I was like maybe to expensive for me. Also really want the Sat Nav but I got told its the same price afterwards. The options sure do add up!!

It is on order and so apparently a six month wait.. So it begins!!

Bit annoying considering it arrived into Brisbane on 30th April?
