mine had 24km on it. and I know for a fact that it didnt do any driving other than on/off trucks.

I know this as it got delivered to the dealer on thursday at 11am. I called in after work to check it over - it had 20km on it . I picked it up at lunch time on the friday with 24. its about 2km to the servo to get it fueled.

    Get the 18" Detroits!
They're ONLY $1200, so it's not possible to get anything aftermarket for that price (in fact, your tyres alone will basically cost that much), the machined face and the black painted interior of the Detroits really "finishes" the MK6 GTI well. No matter what colour GTI you get, the Detroits look much better! The ride quality is also fine (in my opinion from having owned a MKV with 18's), with the Detroits.

I just think if you don't get them, you'll be kicking yourself after seeing someone else's GTI with them on!

The long wait ended for us on Friday. Our new 103 Comfortline with DSG was worth the wait from Feb 12 to April 30. Been a driver of lots of vehicles since 1971 and this car is by far THE best. Quiet, powerful, smooth and efficient are my first impressions.
It was superbly presented for delivery from a Chatswood dealer, with a big red bow as the car is registered in my partners name....she loves it. In hindsight we should have ordered the park assist but that may have delayed the arrival date, we'll just have to park the old fashioned way with eyes and mirrors. The DSG is amazing and I would never go back to a manual after using the DSG. The turbo diesel has heaps of torque and unlike other diesels I have driven the 103 Kw's are instantly on tap with plenty of acceleration at speeds up to 110 plus. Wait until it loosens up!! It impressed a R32 skyline driver so much that he wants one.
For all the people waiting for delivery, be prepared for a great sensation.

My other drive is 07 XTRAIL Manual,

I agree the 18" detroits looks heaps better from the outside. But $1200 on something that you cant admire when you are driving...I dont know...

yeah I know, hard call. the 18s do look nicer. and a bit stiffer in the ride for probably better handling. Havign driven gtis with either wheels theres really not much in it I dont think. Look its a fantastic car with great handling and performance and think you will be happy either way I think . Because mine is an everyday car I ended up taking the slightly more compliant 17s. the 18s are a very cheap option, but yeah $1200 is $1200 so put that towards mdi and towbar which I much more need

Which dealer was that? My dealer doesnt bother calling me. I guess money in the bank (contract signed) means dont worry about after sales as they already have the cash? They'll have to pull some major rabbits out of the hat to get me to buy there again. Lesson learnt.

If you don't spend the $1200, then at least take the 17's to get painted so that they look like the 18's
