Ill keep that in mind Corey.
I've always set my cars to 34 all round - not knowing any different.
Most people will put their tyres to around 32psi (220kpa) because that's what they've been told all these years, and also it provides a 'comfortable ride'.
280kpa at the front is 40.5psi and 300 at the rear is 43.5psi.
Personally I think those are probably a bit too high. I'm also of the opinion that since the front is the load bearing end and driven wheels of a Golf that they should be higher than the rear. If it were my car, I'd be leaving the fronts as you've set them, and then drop the rear to say 260kpa (~37.5psi).
Congrats on your new car

Yeah - it's worth experimenting a bit.
Tyre inflation is integral to both the handling and comfort of your car. Too low or too high and you negatively affect the acceleration, braking and cornering capabilities of your car. Plus, too high and you'll affect the comfort of your ride.
Different driving styles might require different tyre pressures. For some people, the optimal tyre pressures for performance might also be too high for the comfort they desire. So when you're not using the "manufacturers recommendations" there is technically no wrong or right setting (well... setting it beyond the max pressures listed on a tyre is obviously wrong, and below the manufacturers recommendations is also wrong... but anywhere in between can be right).
Actually I just had my Mazda 3 SP23 servied on the weekend. I immediately noticed the difference in ride and handling when I picked it up.
As I said, i've always set mine to 34 all round - I have a feeling they set it might higher.
Will have to check. I prefer it higher up - feels much better and most of my driving is on the highway / main roads so I can afford to have it a little harder.
