So, when does it arrive ?

Nice options. I wanted ACC but didn't want to wait another 6 months and must admit, not having it has not been an issue. Rides better than our GTI

It is funny how we both went from XTs to GTIs and then VW again

I couldn't go back to Subie after VW. Still, I do miss the adaptability of the Fozz.

I am hoping it will arrive in NSW sometime next week - its coming from a dealership in Melbourne. I didn't really want the Sat/Nav thing or the Park Assist but the only white GTI left in Australia that satisfied my other requirements had those options in it. So, we bought that one... The guy who I bought the car from has been a long time friend / car salesman - this is our 8th car from him - we first met him in the Subaru dealership here. He moved to VW and when we started looking around we checked out the first GTI from the dealership he was managing. Long story, but we get great service and if and when something ever goes wrong he has the punch to make things happen very quickly. I am as sure as I can be that this will be our last (new) car so we are hoping it will be a super replacement for the current GTI - everything I have read indicates that will be the case... My son Peter (Magus) said to say hi! He has our old white Foz and it is probably more STI than XT now... It truly is a weapon... Take it easy mate!! Oh, go Manly... lol....

Say hi to your son mate. I do miss those days

Enjoy the GTI. The MKVI is a great step up overall from the MKV.

My R is a car I will keep for many years.

I took delivery of my GTD yesterday. Very happy.

I read the "running in a diesel" advice that I found here, and trying to follow it with the DSG - interesting! Left in auto mode, it changes out of first very quickly; if I try in manual mode, it sometimes delays the upchange to 2nd - it's gone past the 3800 "running in" rev limit a few times.

Loved the run up the freeway last night (even if it was a reduced speed limit for wet weather), and came home the long way through the hills. I'm loving the torque that it has.

Now I've got a long weekend of "running in" to do.

Rang to VWA about my R's status just now, still no luck here. The lady found my order still wait for produce so no VIN number even build week can given. Sign, it seems I can't receive it in time around this Nov even Dec.

Great to hear your loving it. Alot of people dismiss the diesel, not realising how far they have come in recent years. Took some mates for a burl in a diesel jetta and they soon changed their perception of what they knew and thought about them. Anyway many happy miles to you.
Golf R, Rising Blue, 5 Door, DSG and some extra fruit.

Thank you. Still loving the torque & the way it corners. I think I'll be happy having work pay me to drive this.

Including city & country "running in", average economy after almost 1000km is 6.2l/100km. Unfortunately, because the bluetooth isn't coming up on the RCD510, it has to go back to the dealer for the day, one week after I picked it up.
