Ok. I just got the VIN numbers from the dealer and according to an online decoder, it says my car is built in 1981!!

I assume there's a rolling counter and the year 2011 is somehow misinterpreted as 1981?

Well had the GTI for 3 days absolutely wrapped , gave it some stick today , most impressed by the tricky diff , no understeer , no loss of traction coming out of a fast corner .
The build quality is most impRressive , much better than the RS , and that sound its addictive .
